Anabell sat alone in front of the fireplace in a big green chair, reading a book and enjoying the warmth of the crackling fire, even though it never seemed to be enough. She shivered, she was cold - she was always cold, but the Slytherin Common Room always had a danker, colder weather about it that sometimes just made you want to run and jump in your bed, hide under the covers, and never come back out again.

Unless you were used to it, which of course, Anabell had never been able to accomplish.

She sat reading, in almost total silence, partially content.

Alecto walked in to the commom room, plopping down in a chair by the fire. Seeing Anabell Lee there, reading a book. Alecto got up and looked at her over her book. "Hey Miss Anabell. How are you today?" He winked at her. He didn't know if she would go on with it, and frankly he really didn't care. He had his eyes on a certain grffindor, and he didn't care if she was his rival.

"Anabell? How was your day? Hope it was good." He stood there waiting for her reply.

Anabell let out a slight giggle at his winking at her. Her cheeks turned slightly red as she searched for words to say.

"Anabell? How was your day? Hope it was good." she heard him say.

"It was fine," she replied in her calm, silky voice as she stared blankly into the fire. She always seemed to have a problem with looking into someone's eyes when she was talking to them, although she didn't know why. "And yours?" she forced herself to look up at him, showing she was interested in what he had to say.

Benjy walked into the Common Room and slug his things on the floor. He plopped down in the chair near the fire and rubbed his aching head.

“Hello darling,” he greeted Anabell. “How was your day?”

He looked over to his day dreaming friend, Alecto. “Hey man, are you ready for the Quiddich game against Gryffindor tomorrow?”

He loved Quiddich, especially when he could push Gryffindors around and not get detention for it. But there was one Gryffindor he would not be pushing around. Her name was Emmeline Vance. But the dilemma was that he could not go easy on her either. They played opposite positions and he remembered how good she was last year. ‘No where near as good as me,’ he thought. He had quite a lot to think about Alecto was the only one to set his mind right.

Amycus rolled her eyes from the couch upon which she had been reclining and reading the latest issue of the new magazine, Witch Weekly. It was a bit too girly girly for her tastes, but it was something to read, and the boys featured in the "Hotties of the Month" section were quite worth a look at.

She looked over at her brother and his friend being somewhat goofballish. Calling Anabell 'darling' and whatnot. What was up with that? She sort of hoped neither of them liked her, she seemed a bit...odd, different, sort of. But it really was none of her business... Not that that ever bothered her, of course.

She pushed herself up onto her elbows and pouted prettily, looking from Alecto to Benjy,

"Don't I get a hello, boys?" she asked, pretending to be hurt that she had not gotten any sort of a greeting.
